May HAT “Products with Purpose”

Thrilled to share my May’s Products with Purpose column in Home Accents Today, where I spotlight three standout brands pushing the boundaries of sustainable design.

Two of my selections were inspired by my recent trip to High Point Market, where innovation and intention were on full display:

🏺 Accent Décor’s “Salvage Collection” - A beautiful line of recycled terracotta vessels (available as a bowl, large pot, and pot with saucer) hand-painted in warm white. What makes this collection remarkable is its production process: salvaged fragments of broken terracotta are crushed and blended with smooth clay to form new life.

🪑 Kamiya Furniture’s award-winning chair - A masterclass in craftsmanship and philosophy. With polished brass pins accenting mortise and tenon joinery, and a signature brass wedge nestled into a friction-fit tusk-tenon, this piece reflects a deep harmony between nature and design. It’s a true example of bespoke luxury that reinforces both the aesthetic and emotional quality of interior spaces.

🌵 Lastly, I featured Sabai Design out of Brooklyn, which is using mature nopal cactus leaves to craft beautiful, conscious sofas. This vegan leather alternative requires no irrigation, emits significantly fewer carbon emissions than traditional materials, and contains no toxic chemicals.

These brands are making sustainability feel more inspired, accessible, and essential than ever.
