Fire Farm This Summer
We are back in the garden this summer and I would love to share what I have growing! There's an Audrey Hepburn quote I come back to every year: "To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow." I feel this way each morning when I water, prune, and pick what's ready to be eaten. This space is where I reconnect with nature, find peace in the process, and feel inspired by the beauty that surrounds me. And the joy of sharing that produce with family and friends… Truly one of life's simplest pleasures.
Fire Farm keeps me grounded. It gives me something consistent to work on each day, a place to go outside, breathe, and just be. It nourishes me in more ways than one, and this summer has been no exception.
THE FLOWERS
Color combinations in gardening, especially with perennials, are so rewarding. Take clematis… it comes in so many colorful varieties that when they all blossom together, it's like a floral canvas of vibrant, beautiful blooms.
Watching them climb and unfurl each year, in shades I've layered and planned for, is one of my favorite parts of the season. There's a real art to it, choosing which colors sit next to each other and how they'll play off one another as everything comes into bloom. It's the kind of quiet, patient work that pays off every single morning I walk outside.

THE VEGETABLE (AND FRUIT!)
This summer I decided to expand the vegetable and fruit garden, and it's been such a joy to watch it all come to life. Here's what's growing at Fire Farm this year: Strawberries, Blueberries, Many varieties of tomatoes, Cucumbers, Radishes, Beans, Peas, Field pumpkins, Zucchini, Basil, Oregano, Sage, and Chives!
There's nothing quite like heading out in the early morning with a basket, checking on the tomatoes, pulling a few radishes, snipping basil for dinner. It's a small ritual, but it's mine, and it's one I look forward to all year long.
Here's to another summer of growing, nurturing, and believing in tomorrow.
