Trend Alert: Animal Instinct

I spent Thanksgiving in California visiting my son, and as always, I couldn’t resist a little trend scouting while I was there. One stop in particular sparked a whole new board: Blue Ojai, a beautifully curated home goods store filled with personality.

What stood out instantly was the abundance of animal motifs woven throughout the space. Bold polar bear and fox sculptures caught my eye first, but the trend didn’t stop there. I started spotting smaller, charming details everywhere I looked. Hand-embroidered napkins with cats, dishware adorned with different dog breeds, and subtle nods to wildlife in textures and patterns.

It all came together in a way that felt playful, warm, and intentional. A celebration of character-driven design and the joy of bringing a little whimsy into the home.
