Pantone’s 2025 Color of the Year – Mocha Mousse

Pantone has officially announced Mocha Mousse as its 2025 Color of the Year — a warm, inviting brown that reflects our collective desire to slow down, ground ourselves, and seek comfort in the simple things. According to Pantone, this cozy shade captures today’s cultural mood: a longing for familiarity, warmth, and balance in our everyday lives.

As someone who follows color trends closely, I couldn’t be more excited about this selection. Mocha Mousse feels like a natural evolution, especially as we see grey tones gradually fading from the forefront of interiors. In their place, designers and homeowners alike are gravitating toward browns — from earthy tans to deeper, chocolate hues — to create spaces that feel rooted and restful.

What I love most about Mocha Mousse is its versatility. It’s a neutral that doesn’t fade into the background — it brings depth, richness, and a subtle sophistication to any palette. Whether layered with soft creams and textured linens or paired with warm metallics and natural materials, this color has the power to anchor a room and evoke a sense of calm.

I created the board below to highlight a few images that capture the spirit of Mocha Mousse. Each one showcases how this hue can bring both modernity and nostalgia into a space, proving that brown is anything but boring.
